After School Programs @ Omaha Public Schools

Program: Kids Can is proud to offer out of school programming for students and families of seven Omaha Public School sites including: Benson West, Conestoga, Druid Hill, Gilder, Miller Park, Minne Lusa, and Wakonda Elementary Schools. 

These programs are part of 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CLC) and serves kids from Kindergarten to 6th Grade. Students enjoy a wide variety of activities each day including a warm meal, homework help, physical activities in the gym and on the playground, and access to our STEMsmart programming via exceptional community providers and activities developed by our highly skilled staff. Kids Can takes pride in supporting academics while increasing youth access to positive adult relationships.

 

Hours: The program runs immediately after school dismissal until 6pm Monday through Friday.  Each child needs to be picked up by 6:00 PM unless otherwise posted.

 

Schedule of Activities: Activities range from the arts, STEM activities, physical activities, tutoring and homework. Below is a sample daily schedule but may vary per site:

                4:05 to 4:30 PM – Arrival and Dinner

                4:30 to 4:45 PM – Homework Help

                4:45 to 5:50 PM – Enrichment Activities

                5:50 to 6:00 PM – Clean-Up and dismissal

 

Registration: Each child needs to be registered prior to attending the program. Every family must go through the process of applying for childcare subsidies to attend the program.
